Anger
“I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul”
-Invictus (William Ernest Henley)
We are all masters of our fate. However, we unconsciously forget, not of our fates, but of the grandiosity of our roles. We veer away from being masters. We lose control, we lose faith, we lose time, we lose what we claim to possess, and we lose ourselves in this cruel world. Then we end up being slaves.
We protect our pride. We feed our insecurities. We curse what stands before us and we blame who is right in front of us. A heart of spite is all we need. Then we destroy ourselves.
